What I'm Working On Lately (Oct 25)

I've been heads down building lately. Like, grind-mode-going-to-bed-at-4am heads down. Not really in a client work sense. It's fueled by something more personal. I’m building tools that solve real problems for myself and the people I know.

Four Software as a Service (SaaS) apps: Taack, Dollah, Gazette, and The WiFy Plugin. All built with the same stack: Next.js, Convex, and Clerk. It's all I need these days for peak productivity as a solo dev. Most notably, Convex has been game-changing in allowing me to ship faster and I will fan-boy for them any day.

There's a real mental aspect to it too. It's helping me to break past my upper limits. I've set both monetary and mission-focused goals for each product. In the SaaS world that manifests itself as MRR (monthly recurring revenue) and MAU (monthly active users).

Ultimately, it's about making a tangible difference in the lives of people in Trinidad & Tobago and beyond. Here's what's been cooking:

My Full Stack

This is the stack I’m most productive with, and I don’t think I’ll be shifting it any time soon.

Dollah

Goal: 100 monthly users | Current: 6/100

Dollah is an automatic spending tracker built specifically for the Caribbean. I originally just wanted a simple way to keep tabs on my spending from my Republic Bank account, but without Open Banking in the region, there’s no secure way for developers to access transaction data directly.

So, Dollah takes a different route. Instead of linking to your bank, it quietly works at the inbox level. When a transaction alert email comes in, say, from Republic Bank, it detects, parses, and categorizes the data for you. Over time, you get a clear, holistic view of how you actually spend.

The app’s in early access right now, and I’m working on adding support for more banks like Scotiabank and First Citizens. For now, access is limited to about a hundred people while I complete a few verification steps with Google. A mobile app is definitely on the horizon too. It’s been interesting to see how people react when they realize their spending habits are nothing like what they imagined.

Taack

Current Goal: $1,000,000 in revenue in the next year

Taack is the event and ticketing platform the region truly deserves. It's built for more than just parties and fetes. Taack supports all types of events: yoga retreats, workshops, housewarmings, corporate team-builders, and more. It's modern, secure and snappy. I like to think of it as a boost to both fun and efficiency in entertainment tech.

This one’s special to me. It’s not my first rodeo in the event space, but it feels like the culmination of a decade of lessons, experiments, and late nights finally taking shape. Seeing it come to life has felt unreal in the best way.

I'm betting big on this. Taack’s already proven itself at scale, selling over 1,200 tickets for a club event in Jamaica. If we can become the go-to platform for local events, whether niche or massive, that million-dollar goal isn't as crazy as it sounds.

The WiFy Plugin

Goal: 500 subscribers

I’ve been quietly working on this one for a while. True to form, it started as a client solution that grew into an online product.

The WiFy Plugin bridges a huge gap in Caribbean e-commerce. It's a Shopify tool that integrates directly with WiPay, so store owners can accept local payments in JMD, TTD, BBD, and USD without the usual setup headaches.

I have my own thoughts and reservations on WiPay, but there is a real need for people who utilize the service.

I’ve seen Shopify’s rise firsthand through the kinds of client requests I get. This plugin is all about giving people more freedom and flexibility in how they accept payments online.

Gazette

Goal: 1,500 daily active users

Gazette is a news aggregator for Trinidad and Tobago. It brings together all the headlines in one clean feed.

I still distinctly remember starting this in a coffee shop years ago, and publishing the app a few weeks later. Since then, it's grown and evolved into something people rely on daily.

With the recent launch of the iOS app, it’s now everywhere: Android and Web.

There have been some hurdles with Gazette these past few months, but it's finally in a place where I can focus on shipping!

Next, I'm working on Letters to the editor, original articles, and a more powerful recommendation system. The vision is simple though: become the homepage for Trinis (and diaspora) who want to stay informed. If I can hit 1,500 daily actives, I'll know I've created something people truly need!

What's Next?

I'm building tools that serve real people, measure success in active users and recurring revenue, and—hopefully—give me the freedom to keep creating. I value autonomy and flexibility very highly in my life, so for right now I am purposefully bootstrapped as I build these out.

If any of these resonate with you, or you know someone who could use them, send them my way or share a link! Let's build something that lasts.
